Arthri Zen Relief Cream Review

“This is the best pain relief cream I’ve ever experienced!” says Jackie Ross, an enthusiastic reviewer for Arthri Zen Relief Cream on LuckyVitamin.com. Other customers on this site and other sites voice similar praises.

Arthri Zen Relief Cream, made by RZN Neutraceuticals is a topical pain relief ointment intended for individuals suffering from temporary or chronic muscle and joint pain. RZN claims it will temporarily relieve minor aches and pains associated with arthritis, back-aches, sprains, bruises, strains, and stiffness.

There are hundreds of ointments and creams on the market that claim to quickly and effectively relieve aches and pains, but rarely are they as effective as they claim to be. In my experience, pain relief creams generally leave my skin feeling tingly, my hands smelling funny, and my pain unchanged.

I researched Arthri Zen Relief Cream to see if it’s any different, and if Jackie’s enthusiasm is founded. Does it actually relieve pain and stiffness and how does it work? Here is what I found.

Arthri Zen Relief Cream has several ingredients common in lotions and creams. These ingredients moisturize and increase skin permeability but don’t relieve joint pain. The following ingredients are to ease aching joints.

Menthol 5% topical analgesic: a common ingredient in topical pain relief treatments. Menthol is considered a counterirritant. That means it causes a mild irritation on the skin, usually recognized as a sensation of coolness or heat, while relieving pain and soreness in the tissues below.

Natural Oil of Wintergreen:used as a counterirritant, similar to menthol. Its sensation of coolness distracts from joint pain and allows for more mobility.

Avocado Oil: decreases joint pain and improves function. Avocado oil may be more effective if taken orally.
Aloe: often used as a topical ointment to relieve skin and muscle pain.

Grape Seed Oil: evidence supports use as an anti-inflammatory. It also may increase joint flexibility.

What Is a Counterirritant?

Arthri Zen Relief Cream contains two counterirritants in its formula: menthol and wintergreen. So, what is a counterirritant and why are they included in the formula?

The FDA has classified counterirritants as safe and effective in treating muscle soreness. They mildly irritate the skin through a sensation of cold or hot, while relieving pain in the tissues below. Unfortunately, little research has been done on the exact physical mechanisms which allow them to relieve soreness.

However, there have been studies done on whether or not counterirritants are effective. The Journal of Sport Rehabilitation published a study involving test subjects who had zero weight training exercise in the last 6 months. After exercise training, the subjects’ muscle soreness was assessed through range of motion and perceived pain tests.

Subjects were then given a counterirritant ointment or a placebo and soreness was assessed again. The result was increased range of motion and decreased perception of pain in the non-placebo group. There was no change in the placebo group. [1]

The active ingredients in Arthri Zen Relief Cream are targeted at relieving pain and soreness. Some ingredients are clinically proven to work, and each plays an important role in Arthri Zen Relief Cream’s effectiveness.

Additionally, Arthi Zen Relief Cream itself was clinically tested in a trial paid for by RZN neutracueticals. In the trial it made a significant difference in the test subjects’ pain and muscle soreness. [2]

Cost and Suggested Use

Arthri Zen Relief Cream is sold in one month supply tubes. The cream is to be applied to the affected areas 3 to 4 times a day, but no more. Never apply the cream to open wounds or broken skin. In addition, avoid bandaging tightly or using heating pads while using the cream.

Arthri Zen is available for the following prices:
• RZNNutraStore.com: 1 tube: $17.95, 3 tubes: $44.85+1 tube free.
• LuckyVitamin.com: $15.99
• Amazon: $15.99

Arthri Zen Relief Cream seems to be an effective topical treatment for sore muscles and joints. It is anti-inflammatory, moisturizing, and contains two effective counterirritants.

It is moderately priced and has great reviews on RZNNutraStore.com and LuckyVitamin.com. If other topical pain relief treatments have not worked in the past, Arthri Zen may be a good option.
