Movexa Review

movexa

Sore, aching knees can take away pleasure from even the best days. Movexa is presented as a way to soothe and even correct this nuisance.

Developed by Vitamin Boat, Movexa is a joint supplement designed to reduce pain, stop cartilage loss, and ease inflammation and swelling. Not only that, Movexa is also said to rebuild cartilage and collagen to stop your joint problems for good.

I decided to see if Movexa lived up to the hype.

Who is Movexa Made For?

Given the popularity of joint supplements on the web, it’s important to know exactly who Movexa is intended for. While some joint supplements target senior citizens and others target athletes, Movexa is designed for everyone.

According to Movexa.com, Movexa improves joint health in:

• Senior citizens
• Athletes
• Active, healthy people in their 30s and 40s

Since these groups all need cartilage repaired and inflammation reduced, Movexa’s wide targeted market makes sense. Whether or not it works will be determined by the formula, however.

Who Makes Movexa?

Now that we know who Movexa is for, let’sinvestigate who makes Movexa. A manufacturer’s reputation can say a lot about their product.

Movexa is produced and distributed by Vitamin Boat, a supplement company based in Lawrenceville, Georgia. Vitamin Boat produces supplements for men’s health, women’s health, joint support, and dietary support.

Unfortunately, Vitamin Boat doesn’t have a profile with the Better Business Bureau and doesn’t disclose much information on their official website, VitaminBoat.com. Vitamin Boat does have a Facebook profile, however, where they connect with customers and offer discount codes for their many products.

Without additional information, like who owns Vitamin Boat or how long the company has been in business, it’s hard to make a judgment call on this company.

What Ingredients Are in Movexa?

Movexa uses a blend of 6 ingredients to ease joint pain. Vitamin Boat also includes the ingredient amounts with every ingredient on their nutrition label, making it easy to judge the product’s effectiveness as a whole.

I always appreciate when companies disclose this information, as so many supplement manufacturers choose to be dishonest and hide ineffective ingredient quantities in a proprietary blend.

However, telling us the ingredient amounts isn’t enough. To really prove its worth, Movexa needs to include effective ingredients in effective amounts. Let’s take a look to see if this is the case.

Vitamin D3

Vitamin D offers many benefits. Too little vitamin D in the system can mean headaches, muscle weakness, and arthritis. It follows that vitamin D supplementation will prevent these conditions. Vitamin D3 is especially beneficial in preventing arthritis and joint pain.

Amount Needed for These Benefits: 600 IU
Amount Included in Movexa: 500 IU

Boswellia Serrata

Extract from the boswellia tree has been used to treat arthritis for many years, primarily because of its anti-inflammatory properties. It is especially effective in treating knee pain, and may even prevent certain types of cancer. No studies validate this last benefit, however.

Amount Needed for These Benefits: 100 – 250 mg [1]
Amount Included in Movexa: 300 mg

Glucosamine Sulfate

One of the most popular treatments for joint pain, glucosamine sulfate—along with chondroitin—comprises a necessary part of cartilage and other connective tissue. Since this tissue is torn and diminished when joints are compromised, rebuilding it will cushion joints, reduce pain, and solve the problem at its source.

Amount Needed for These Benefits: 1500 mg [2]
Amount Included in Movexa: 250 mg

Bromelain

Bromelain is an enzyme from pineapple. With its many proteins, it is able to reduce swelling and pain. It can also treat numbness and rheumatism. Bromelain works especially well in treating mild knee pain when combined with glucosamine.

Amount Needed for These Benefits: 90 mg [3]
Amount Included in Movexa: 145 mg

Chondroitin Sulfate

Alongside glucosamine, chondroitin helps make up connective tissue. When taken orally, chondroitin triggers collagen production, which will help cushion joints and absorb shock. Chondroitin reverses cartilage loss and but eliminates the problem altogether.

Amount Needed for These Benefits: 1000 – 1200 mg [2]
Amount Included in Movexa: 100 mg

Calcium L-Threonate

Lastly, calcium l-threonate is a calcium salt fused with threonic acid. This compound ensures a 95% absorption rates straight into the bones. This results in stronger bones, easing the pain of arthritis and other degenerative diseases.

Amount Needed for These Benefits: 675 mg
Amount Included in Movexa: 50 mg

As you can see, the Movexa formula has some hits and misses. While all the ingredients are top notch, some are included in insufficient amounts while others are present and correct. I still think Movexa will work, but not to the standard set by Vitamin Boat.

Will There Be Side Effects?

Another formula-related concern is side effects. Most joint supplements don’t carry too many side effects, but I’ll take a look at the Movexa ingredients individually and assess their potential for unpleasant side effects.

Glucosamine Sulfate—Considered “likely safe” by WebMD, but can cause mild side effects like nausea, heartburn, diarrhea, and constipation.
Chondroitin Sulfate—Also considered “likely safe,” but can cause stomach pain and nausea. Rare side effects include swollen eyelids, leg swelling, hair loss, and irregular heartbeat.
Calcium L-Threonate—No adverse side effects in lab rats, but not enough information to judge effects in humans.
Boswellia Serrata—Also “likely safe,” but can cause nausea and diarrhea in rare cases.
Bromelain—Considered “possibly safe” by WebMD, though can cause diarrhea and intestinal discomfort.
Vitamin D3—Again, “likely safe” unless taken in large doses not included in Movexa.

Judging by this roundup, you might have some stomach complaints with Movexa. To mitigate these, I’d suggest drinking 8 to 10 glasses of water a day and taking Movexa on a full stomach.

How Much Does Movexa Cost?

If you’re interested in trying Movexa, you can order online for $29.95 a bottle and you can save money by ordering in bulk. This 30-day supply, as well as other orders, comes with a 100% money-back guarantee, which means you can return all bottles within 60 days and receive a full refund. However, only one can be used; the others need to be in re-sellable condition.

The Movexa website seems to be the only place you can purchase Movexa, as it isn’t listed on Amazon, eBay, or any other third-party retail website. It’s not a bad price, but considering the lack of information about Vitamin Boat and the spotty formula of the product itself, it might be a bit of a gamble. The money-back guarantee should moderate this risk somewhat, however.

Should You Try Movexa?

Movexa has made a promising start and may provide some relief to your aching joints. However, while I wouldn’t warn you to stay away from this product, I wouldn’t recommend you try it, either.

There are other joint supplements out there with ingredients in their recommended quantities, many of which come from companies steadier than Vitamin Boat.
